Ingredients

  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cups sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • cup usalted butter, softenedunsalted
  • ¾ cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup crushed Oreo cookies
  • 2 tbsp cinnamon
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • cup butter , softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a baking dish.
  • Prepare the dough: In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Add softened butter, milk, and vanilla. Stir until the dough comes together. Knead on a floured surface for 1-2 minutes, then roll out into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.
  • Layer the filling: Spread 1/3 cup of softened butter evenly over the dough. In a small bowl, combine cinnamon, sugar, and crushed Oreo cookies. Sprinkle the mixture evenly over the buttered dough.
  • Roll up the dough: Starting from the edge, carefully roll the dough into a log. Slice the log into 12 equal rolls.
  • Bake: Arrange the rolls in the greased baking dish and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden and cooked through.
  • Prepare the glaze: While the rolls are baking, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth. Drizzle over the warm rolls once they are out of the oven.
  • Serve and enjoy: Let the rolls cool slightly before serving. Enjoy your warm, gooey Cookies and Cream Cinnamon Rolls!

Notes

  • Dough Relaxation: If the dough is difficult to roll out, allow it to rest for 5-10 minutes. This helps relax the gluten and makes the dough easier to handle.
  • Substitute for Oreos: You can swap Oreo cookies for any chocolate sandwich cookie of your choice for a different flavor profile.
  • Making Ahead: While this recipe is designed for quick preparation, you can also make the rolls the night before and refrigerate them. Allow them to rise at room temperature for about 30 minutes before baking.
  • Add-ins: Feel free to add a handful of mini chocolate chips or a sprinkle of chopped nuts for extra texture and flavor.
  • Glaze Variations: If you prefer a richer glaze, you can replace the milk with heavy cream for a thicker, creamier consistency.
  • Storage: Leftover rolls can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days. You can also freeze them for up to a month. To reheat, simply warm in the microwave or oven.
